The Rise of the Mega Fund - Softbank's Vision Fund
Colin Fan is a Managing Partner at SoftBank helping to lead and manage the firm's $100 billion Vision Fund. Prior to SoftBank, Colin was the Head of Global Markets (the securities division) at Deutsche Bank, which was one of the top sales and trading operations in the world. He was also co-Head of Corporate Banking and Securities (the overall investment bank) and a member of the Deutsche Bank Group Executive Committee. Colin earned his BA in History and Science from Harvard, where he graduated with honors.
Ms. Lydia Jett is a senior member of the global growth equity investment team at the SoftBank Vision Fund where she focuses on the eCommerce, consumer internet and fintech sectors. Current board / observer seats held include: Flipkart, Fanatics, Tokopedia and Fetch Robotics.
Prior to joining SoftBank in 2015, Ms. Jett was a Principal at M/C Partners, a Boston-based growth equity firm focused on the technology and communications services sectors. Previously, Ms. Jett was an investor at Goldman Sachs in the Principal Investment Area in New York where she invested in the cable and education sectors, and an investment banking analyst at JPMorgan.
Ms. Jett holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business a BA from Smith College and is a graduate of the General Course at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She resides in Palo Alto, California with her husband and son.
Greg joined Upfront as a Partner in 2013. Greg was the Chief Marketing Officer for HauteLook, a leading online flash-sale retailer. Launched in December 2007, Los Angeles based HauteLook was acquired by Nordstrom, Inc., in March 2011 for $270mm. Prior to joining HauteLook, Greg was Executive Vice President of Business Development and Strategy at Live Nation, responsible for strategic direction and key business partnerships for Live Nation’s ticketing and digital businesses. Before Live Nation, Greg held a number of leadership positions at eBay, including Sr. Director of Business Development at StubHub, where he led business development, partnerships, sales and seller development, including spearheading StubHub’s landmark relationship with Major League Baseball. Prior to transitioning to StubHub from eBay, he led eBay.com’s Event Tickets and Media businesses (including half.com) and was the business leader who led eBay’s acquisition of StubHub in 2007.
